CHANGES coming & the new ART OF MARINA

You might remember my Ontario debut at the 2018 Toronto Artist Project. If you’ve been following along on my journey, that was the first time I finally had the courage to step out of comfort zone, invest in a booth, and showcase my signature drippy and illustrative watercolour art.

The Monstera, The Bungalow and Areca Palms.

Fashion Art such as Glam, Female + JuneBug

And My jumbo Pineapple, ice cream cone.

They weren’t my first, but they were my favourites and brought me so much joy to paint and building a business upon those pieces of art has brought happiness to my life that I hadn’t previously thought possible and I’m forever grateful to them.

But time ticks onwards and you have to move forward and evolve, especially as an artist. That is why, this February 22nd, 2020, I’ll be showcasing my current inventory for the very last time at the Toronto Artist Project—where it all began.

Metamorphosis: From Butterflies to a Business Plan

Meeting fellow artists and YOU, the beautiful people who invest in my artwork, has been the highlight of my career. It’s helped me grow as an artist and as a business person.

For me, that concept came together in my series of 9 Magical Butterflies last fall. They symbolize the metamorphosis I went through, healing from my past losses, tragedy and struggles through fertility, while new birth was happening in the form of Art of Marina. There is more to come with that Butterfly Chapter soon! That first TAP show was terrifying, but I it came together and I did it…and then I did the next one, showing at a slew of makers markets before venturing off into the wholesale world of fashion and showcasing at Magic in Las Vegas and Coterie in NYC.

Now it’s time to move on again, to make room for an entirely new body of artwork. I have found so much new passion and inspiration in detaching myself from the old work to move on to the new. Thank you, old work, for sparking joy in my heart, but it is truly time to move on.

Stay tuned for the intimate new collection that will be meaningful in a whole new way, releasing Spring/ Summer 2020!
A solo exhibition is in the works in an exciting new location, so check back for details.

Get it while it’s hot!

I’ve also come to the difficult decision to discontinue my t-shirt, pillows, leggings and tech gear (cell phone cases and laptop skins) that are currently available on my website.

***The last day to order is Feb.28th***

Once they’re gone, they are gone for good! So grab a souvenir!

Stay tuned, as I will be sharing the new collection and other announcements with you very soon. Please sign up for the newsletter to be the first to know about the new launch, show dates and workshop!
