If you follow my painting blog, perhaps you remember Mission?
She co-starred in the painting Beau & Mission that I did for My friend Chelsea last year…
Well, It was the saddest day when Chelsea approached me with a broken heart in September – she had just lost her best friend, Mission had past away 3 days prior. She went on to say they were together for 11 years, all of Mission’s life. She had never felt a loss this painful, and really wasn’t prepared. They did everything together and she wasn’t sure how to go on.
My heart broke too. I wanted nothing more than to paint this portrait. Chelsea attached a photo from her iphone, that was the photo of Mission she asked me to paint.
Chelsea,
I am so sorry for your loss. My heart is broken for you and all I can say is Mission was a lucky girl. She had the BEST life getting to hang by your side for 11 years. I hope it gets easier somehow, and that you feel better knowing that Mission is in heaven with a big huge smile on her adorable face.
Thanks for letting me paint her twice, she’s going to live forever in these pictures, paintings and memories =)
Love Always,
Marina
