It started as a secret when I was a little girl. I would lock myself away and draw my dolls, album covers and my favorite flowers. I was too scared to show anyone until I was finished. Still to this day I have fear, but I read somewhere that fear doesn’t go away. The warrior and the artist live by the same code of necessity, which dictates that the battle must be fought anew every day. I am often surprised with the results from each “battle”, and have slowly come to enjoy painting in front of people too.
Portraits only officially started last year by request, and today dozens of faces have crossed my palette. My favorite part is getting to know people and their stories by painting them and their loved ones. Even their pets and their newborn babies become a special little part of my life too.

I continue to paint all the time from my imagination, but I will continue to exercise my portrait techniques because I love the challenge. I am truly honored and flattered every time a portrait is requested and I hope to share each story on this blog, in hopes that maybe one day you will like to share your story with me too.
